Dear Members and Parents,
My name is Summer Burroughs and I am very excited to have been hired as the The Eastern Point Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program’s Director. The EPYC program will be oriented towards aspiring sailors of varying skill levels between the ages of 8-15.  Junior Sailing Program begins June 27, 2022 with weekly sessions running through August 5th.   All sessions are open to members and non-members.
I will be entering my senior year at St. Lawrence University in the fall where I am pursuing a double major in sociology and public health.  In addition to my academics, I am also the Director of Facility Operations for my sorority and an admissions ambassador for the university, giving tours to perspective students and faculty members. Before entering my freshman year of college, I took a gap year. Over the course of my gap year, I traveled and worked in Ireland, Italy, and France. When home in Essex, I worked for Aztec Soccer Academy, Danvers, MA where I managed and assisted coaching for three teams. I also helped organize and facilitate residential camps and local camps for the club.
I learned to sail at the Essex Bay Sailing Club on Conomo Point, Essex, MA at age seven and sailed for EBSC for roughly eight years.  When I was sixteen, I became an instructor for beginners, intermediates, and the race team.
I am very excited to meet the EPYC community and I’m looking forward to providing your young sailors and aspiring sailors with a fun experience on the EPYC waterfront that will make learning a breeze!
